World Citizen: In Spain, a Turn to 'None of the Above"

www.worldpoliticsreview.com/articles/12955/in-Spain-a-turn-to-none-of-the-aboveSpain has been experiencing an economic recession and have tried coping with it for 5 years. Before this happened, the country had been depending on their housing boom. Unfortunately, that was a big fail. Now unemployment rates are up by 27.2%, compared to 2007 when it wasonly 7.9%. Now most cannot afford healthy lifestyles and are forced to use what they can. Thisturn was ultimately placed on the shoulders of Mariano Rajoy, the former prime minister whowas kicked off his position.

Pri you, me, Iris, and Jane have to do the Chapter Eight notes. I've already kinda set it up so just decide what you want to fill out. I've set up eight sections and filled out two of them.I think it would only be fair if we each did two.
Thanks, Loralie

A [[#|Sheet]] of Music
My life is a sheet of musicA page of notesAnd I don't know when it will end. There is no key [[#|signature]]No sharps or flatsI must try to find out myselfWhat my songis boundto sound likeI have already started my search to tryAnd find out. There are passages that are easy to playBut some so difficultIt must be played over and over againUntil it is played correctlyThere are rests where I can justStopAnd enjoy myselfBut there are eighth notesWhere there is no break.Someday the music will stopBut not yetIm still trying to figure outWhat my songWill sound like.

I love your poem Pri! great detail and very good use of your metaphor!

Mikhail Gorbachev ~
In Michael Hart's book, there are 100 people who have greatly influenced our world. One of the people on this list is Mikhail Gorbachev and he is worthy of this spot . Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev was born into a peasant family of a mixed Russian and Ukranian ancestry. Even though he did not have much, Mikhail managed to go to Moscow State University. His later actions in life would have a great influence on our world.
First of all, Gorbachev's reform policies, Perestroika and Glasnost had a big affect on the world because of what they meant. According to Wikipedia, Perestroika was a policy to bring market concepts to the USSR. Glasnost allowed people to have the freedom of speech; to have a say in things. Another that made Gorbachev so memorable was his contributions to end the Cold War peacefully. His policies led to the fall of the Berlin Wall, opening the border. Another thing that makes Mikhail influential is him winning the Nobel Peace Prize. After allowing freedom of religion into the Soviet Union, he had the honor of winning this prestigous award. Utmost respect should be placed upon Mikhail Gorbachev for healing and influencing our world.

Good work on both the poem and the Gorbachev paper. Can you set your peom up so that it looks like a poem? 4's. Mr. Chester
I'm sorry Mr. Chester the poem did look like a poem until I pressed the edit button.

Chinese Poem~

I sit on the bank under a
slow dancing willow,
but the tree is silently weeping.
I ask, "Why so sad?"
He says, "Sad? I am glad!
For you are a good company 'a keeping.

So that tree, him and I,
keep relaxed and wave hi,
as the man and the ox,
work 'round the clock,
and the birds, and the sky,
and the clouds roll by.

So you and the tree are basically lazy creatures while other people do the work?!? I like it. Good idea. Mr. Chester
